The Burma Trail
"Come forward a bit and now there is a step infront of you." I could hear the stream beside me and I could feel the bugs landing on me while I walked to the start of the trail. As I stepped down to the start of the burma trail I heard the other kids voices infront of me. Just then I hit a plastic bag, or what I thought was a plastic bag! A few steps later I hit something hard. "Ok just step over this log" came a friendly voice. now start to crawl on your hands to the finish and you're nearly there!" "Ow!" suddenly I came to a wooden edge and someone yelled "You've done it!"

Heave!! As I pull my weight up and rest my foot on a musical note. Although I got past the musical notes, I can not get past the guitar. But I persevere and keep going. I try and try but I can't get past it. I move to the snakes and ladders. I imagine that I have a dice and I keep rolling it. I'm afraid of heights so I float back down.

SNAP! The string broke, Caleb fell, and he probably put his arms out. I trodded down a few more rocky stairs. A helpful parent advised; "This is where the string broke. Now try to find my right hand." I did, eventually and carried on, not knowing I'd come to lots of zigzags in the rope. I know it was zig-zaged because I saw a photo of it in daylight. Under, forward, about a quarter turn, forward, under, about a quarter turn... It was dark with a blind fold on or off and I had a blindfold on while doing the burma trail. Then I walked into a smooth, slimy thing. Photos proved it was a plastic bag being hung. I proceeded carefully to find my toe stubbing a log of wood. You're at the amphitheatre steps, OK?" Another helpful parent advised. "Yup." I replied and fluently climbed the amphitheatre stairs, trying to keep a rhythym. Unfortunately I couldn't. I then climbed through the bush. Did I mention I was wearing a torch around my neck? Stomp, Click, "Where's my torch gone?" It had unclipped, and rolled somewhere. When I finished I didn't go. I was wearing my dad's torch for most of the time so he'd be angry if he found out. I found it in the end and then ran to my tent. Quickly. I didn't want to lose my torch again.

Thump thump, you can hear the children go up the amphitheatre. Crash... I walked right through the middle of a split tree. I keep walking I come up to some stairs I go up all 5 of them. I go back down down 1 of them and back up it again. I keep following the string until I come to some more stairs I hold on to the string I think I'm getting close I have to finish but the string is gone. He tells me I broke it but I know he's lying. I feel around for steps and find them. I walk up them with help from a parent then he says "I am done."

The Burma Trail
It was a cold dark night. There were huge leafy trees towering above me. The gravel was grey and dull. The cicadas' happy humming was fading away into the dark night. It was silent you could not hear a sound. I was blindfolded so I could not see anything . I felt the wind blowing on my face as I took a step the leaves crackled under my feet. I gripped the string tightly. I did not want to let go. I started creeping through the bush very slowly until someone told me I had finished the awesome burma trail.

Burma Trail
Crack, snap, crack, the gravel crunched under my cold feet as I trodded along the long stoney path. I keep following the rough string to get to the dark end of the fabulous Burma Trail. As I walked along happily again, I met a parent! "Follow the string, the string leads the way,...you may need to step over huge obstacles, whatever you do, follow the string, the string leads the way." The spooky voice that was creeping me out was so unrecognisable that I thought that it could be a warty green witch! "Aaaaah!!" I yelled, that person is certainly trained for scaring children! The next parent that I met was Brent, he told me that I was at the the amphitheatre. I wobbled over the big brown log to get up the theatre's gigantic steps. In the dark murky bush, I crawled around in the soggy wet soil. Suddenly I banged into something, it was towering above me, so I lowered my head down to the ground. I could hear a noise, a noise that sounded like ripples of a stream. I was at the end of the Burma Trail, it was frightening, but the best!! WOOHOO!!

Burma Trail
Crack, crack, crack! Went the gravel sliding under my feet. We are all following the thin string carefully while we are blind folded. "Watch out for the rubbish bag." I hope there is no rubbish in the rubbish bag because that would be yuck!! Where is the string it must of broken? Shall I keep on going or shall I wait? So I kept on going and I got to the amphitheatre. When I got there someone touched me it was James. We had to step over a log and climb up the gigantic amphitheatre stairs. "Stop" exclaims Grant. "Just go up this slope." When I got to the top Mrs Cook exclaims "You're finished."

Burma Trail
As I walked on to the burma trail there was a big step and it was all dark like darkness has taken over the world, an obstacle to go with it, it's not very scary at all. There were adults who tell you to hold on to the string and tell you to step over things like logs, rocks to duck under trees, rubbish bags and the string. When I got to the amphitheatre, I had to step over the humongous step with a blindfold. I tripped over and got whipped to the ground, luckily I got back up. Then I climbed up the muddy hill. One of the adults told me to take off my blindfold and I had finished "YAY!"

Rock Climbing
Click, click as I clip onto the carabiner. Then I reach to the first triangle. While I was holding onto the first triangle I lifted my right foot onto a triangle. Although my feet hurt I managed to get to the tippy top. At the rock climbing place there is a little room called adventure land and that's where I found the triangle wall. It was fantastic fun. I think that all the other ones where terrifying. Can you guess what the mystery rock climbing place is?

The Burma Trail
Crack a branch swayed over my head I can`t see a thing!!!! A hand touches mine. Oh good that was Gretta's hand. Then a silky thing swiftly passes over my face. A dead twig snaps under my feet. An adult of whom I can`t put my finger on told me that there is a big steep front of me. Oh no they have lost the string so I have to crawl up the slippery bank. They have found the string again so I walk the rest of the way up the bank. Finally I feel the stairs and start to climb up the stairs when I get to the top Gretta is coming up the stairs. We both take our blindfolds off. Then we both climb up the stairs chatting and we wish we could do it again.

I hold the string carefully as I strode in the rocky gravel. I can feel the blood rushing through me and I can hear the river flowing beside me. My heart is pumping fast. I go to take a step over a log. When I get over the log I feel a tingling on my face ''What is that'' I say. I think it is a floating bush. I keep on walking forward Toby is chatting loudly. Then I climb up the amphitheatre I know I am almost there. I walk into the bush I hear the trees rustling and relief. Mrs Cook exclaimed that I am finished.

The Burma Trail
Crumble, Crumble, goes the small tiny stones as I carefully walk from step to step. I am holding onto the long rough string so I know where to go. I continue to pass through the many obstacles and the dark native gully. I can hear the parents helping other blindfolded children. I start taking huge steps up the amphitheatre. I reach the top of the amphitheatre and start climbing up vertically, I can feel the cold hard dirt on my hands I know I am in the open bush. Finally I reach concrete. A parent said ' You can take your blindfold off." I was happy that I had finished.

Burma Trail
Crunch, Crunch, Crunch, goes the stones under my feet as I crept down the crumbly path. I could feel the cold air tickling my face. I was nearly finished but I still had a bit to go, so I kept on going until I felt a plastic rubbish bag in the middle of the rocky path. I then heard a voice saying "keep on walking and watch your step."So i kept on creeping. The last thing I had to do was walk up the amphitheatre. I took a big long step and then another, and then another. I finally finished walking up the amphitheatre after falling a few times. I eventually heard Mrs Cook "OK you can take your blindfold off." and sprinted back up to my tent.

Burma Trail
The bush was in pitch black darkness and the wind howled like a pack of wolves. The trees were wining with fear and I was ready to do so myself.I mean it's not the easiest walking through a forest, blindfolded with nothing to guide my way but a piece of string." Step through the hedge if you dare." A familiar voice said of whom I can't put my finger on.
Suddenly I bumped into somthing hard but dellicate. Then a gentle voice whispered "Caitlin, I'm scared." This time I knew exactly who it was it was Stella. Even if you didn't know her you could tell she was petrified, I knew this before we started and now she seemed ten times as scared. "Nearly there, step up the stairs."
A light flashed and I could hear the other campers. Mrs Cook exclaimed "You're finished!"

The Burma Trail
In the dark, creepy bush I slipped on my lime-green blindfold. The end was a long way away, so I had to keep on carefully following the long string all the way through the Burma Trail. I couldn't see a thing all the way through and I lost the string one or two times and I walked into 5 trees! We all had to creep through skinny openings, climb up banks and step down steps and over logs. We even had to get on our knees to crawl under low branches! The teachers had attached rubbish bags as well as flax bunches to the trees so we didn't know what they were. It was a total surprise! Fiama and I kept together along the spooky trail, fighting through the bushes. At last we got to the end, where we had to crawl up the steep bank to the top.
